What happened to the bottle? :

 Here's the rest of the story.

In December 2018, I received this email:

Bonjour,

With help from Google Translate, it reads:

Hello,

While strolling on Staol beach in Santec in Brittany in Finistère (FR), I found something that belongs to you .. hey yes! The bottle you threw into the sea on June 10, 2017 Off Bermuda. Nice journey in a year and a half!

Hope to hear from you.
Kenavo

The email included this photo:

Here's a Map of France's Brittany Coast where the bottle was found.

After responding, in English to the email above, I quickly received a second email, translated below;

Hello. We have received your response. Thank you for answering so fast. We talk about it around us and really everyone thought it was great. We thought we would talk about it at the library and the village school .... it would be good if the children knew the route of this famous bottle. It was I who found it while walking with my dog, but it was my daughter Fanny who contacted you. She's in London for a few days and will send you pictures as soon as she gets home early next week ..... Hervee Le Duff.

And so I prepared a track of the bottle, and sent a few photo's of the ship, and her crew during the period we were at sea.
Here's a depiction of the likely track the bottle took.

As a result of this connection;  The Spirit of South Carolina has celebrity status with the people of a small fishing village in Brittany, France, I'm think the imagination of lots of French kids have been quite stirred up.
That's well.
